Bio

Sing-Young Chen is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratories of Drs. Jim Johnson and Elizabeth Rideout at the University of British Columbia. Sing-Young completed her PhD at the University of New South Wales, Australia in the laboratory of Dr. Kyle Hoehn in which she studied novel mitochondrial uncoupler molecules with a focus on therapeutic development for obesity and type 2 diabetes. She then joined the diabetes research team at UBC, where her work seeks to understand sex differences in islet stress resilience, especially in the context of protein synthesis.
