Bio

Resmi has an MSc degree in Molecular Biology and a PhD in Plant Biotechnology from the National Research Centre for Plant Biotechnology, India, where she used promoter trap vectors to create insertion libraries in Arabidopsis. She pursued her interests in functional genomics and cell biology at the University of California, Davis and later at the University of Toronto as a post-doctoral fellow. She earned a second Master of Science degree at UBC by joining the Genome BC project, Biosurveillance of Alien Forest Enemies (bioSAFE) where she developed targeted amplicon sequencing based surveillance tools for the invasive microbial forest pathogen, Phytophthora. In Hallam lab, she is part of the Biobuilder workgroup and serves as the network coordinator for Hallam lab and the UBC undergraduate design teams.
