Bio
Leah received her B.S. at. the University of Waterloo. She is interested in synthetic biology and plant microbe interactions. For her PhD, she is building a rhizosphere compatible functional metagenomic screening platform to harness the genetic potential of the root microbiome. She is also exploring the mechanisms driving priority effects in the rhizosphere to facilitate microbiome engineering for crop health.
