Kyana is an undergraduate student completing her BSc degree in Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia and will be an incoming MSc student for the Fall of 2025. She joined Dr. Johnson’s Laboratory for Molecular Signalling in Diabetes in 2021 and has since been investigating how moderate reduction of the Ins2 gene in non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice, achieved through adeno-associated virus delivery, influences the timing of Type 1 Diabetes onset.
