Bio

Julia Anstett is a PhD Candidate in the Genome Sciences and Technology program. Her research focuses on the microbial ecology of anoxic marine environments, with an emphasis on metagenommics, single-cell genomices, and genome quality. Julia leverages a gene centric approach to study the diversity of denitrification genes in Saanich Inlet and the Northeastern Subarctic Pacific Ocean. Julia received her BASc in Chemical Engineering in 2013 and her MEng in Chemical Engineering in 2016, both from the University of Toronto.
